The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to enter the toilet with his left leg and he then left the toilet with his right leg. For protection, we use the following dua before entering the toilet: "In the Name of Allah, I take refuge with You from all evil and evil-doers."
On leaving the toilet, say, "I ask You (Allah) for forgiveness.
